Rose Tanner Piping Plover hatching oil painting
When you decide to give of yourself for a cause things begin lining up one after the other. Its as if a path gets cleared and the flow is like a river downstream, all you have to do is get on board. The gifts you receive from giving are tenfold. I love that about the nature of things.
When I decided to do a Series of Paintings on an endangered species my intention was to help in some way. I quickly fell in love with the Piping Plover and began conversations with organizations that had Stewardship Programs in Canada. To my delight I found myself in Wasaga Beach near Toronto volunteering as a Plover Guardian and recording the hatchings of two nests.
I wanted to share with you, behind the scene in my studio, work in progress for the Piping Plover Exhibition.
I have always loved art and drawing. I studied at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and then began working for a publishing house as a typesetter and layout artist
